I was photographed in Brooklyn back in 1996 by a lovely German photographer friend. She used to borrow my painted gloves to wear on her models and convinced me to model, against my desire or comfort level…I stay behind the camera!!

The dress was part of a collection I hand-painted during a blizzard in 1996, Park Slope Brooklyn – shot in the snow in Prospect Park.

What a treat to photograph my beautiful daughter as she adorns the same dress sixteen years later.

Beauty of whatever kind, in its supreme development, invariably excites the sensitive soul to tears.  ~Edgar Allan Poe

Slew of Snakes

The children in my photography class and I came upon a sunning, slew of snakes.

Warm and brown. They appeared suddenly, one after another –like discovering stars in the night sky.

How wonderful to be with a group of children who studied the snakes. Standing close to capture their slender curves. No screaming or screeching. Only connection, respect and marvel at the surprise.
